Happy Thanksgiving - Fall at our house

We hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating the blessings the Lord has given you and your family!

Psalm 100

A Psalm for Thanksgiving.

1 Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.

2 Serve the LORD with gladness;

Come before Him with joyful singing.

3 Know that the LORD Himself is God;

It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;

We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving

And His courts with praise.

Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

5 For the LORD is good;

His lovingkindness is everlasting

And His faithfulness to all generations.

Here is a little look at fall at our house.

Happy Halloween

I really do not like Halloween in and of itself, but I do like the fun things that go with it...pumpkins, kids dressing-up and candy.  I look forward to stealing chocolates out of the kids bags!  Here are some pictures from our Halloween.

Back to School

We are already back-to-school!  Here are some pictures from the kids first day.  They are excited to be going to the same school now.

Our first homeschool day went pretty well yesterday, although I threatened at one point to send each kid to public school, 5 days a week, if their attitude for schoolwork with me did not improve...Not my finest moment of the day!  Hopefully tomorrow they will get more in the groove!

Happy 5th Birthday Caleb!

After attending a friend's rock climbing birthday party recently, Caleb decided that was how he wanted to celebrate his 5th birthday.  We have not done birthday parties away from the house with any of the kids yet, but we thought...he's 5...that's a big one and he was SO excited about the thought...we had to do it!

Caleb and his friend showed up in the same shirt!

Special treat - Grandma Katherine was here visiting and got to celebrate Caleb's birthday with us this year!

On his actual birth "Day", we had a small family party.  Below are pictures from that night with the Currys.

Caleb had a great birthday!  Thank you to all of you who celebrated with us or sent presents/notes/cards to wish him a great day!

Olympic Fever!

Ella's sweet Olympic journaling page - She drew a picture of herself as a gymnast on the uneven bars.  This is what her page says "I want to be a gymnast for the Olympics.  I will do flips for the crowd.  I will wear a pretty suit.  I will win a gold medal and a trophy.  The crowd will cheer for me and I will thank them.  Every day I watch the Olympics.  I think it is fun.  I like the gymnast girls best.  I love the Olympics.  I love USA.  It is great.  I love God.  I am a Christian."

Roscoe the Robot

I have started collecting/saving recyclable material over the past year and it came it handy today.  I save large oatmeal cylinders, boxes, yogurt containers, egg cartons, milk jugs, spice containers, lids, etc. and throw it into a big box and keep it out in the garage.  Many times the kids drag it out and just start creating.  They came up with this idea today to make a robot.  I had to help a little with covering him with foil.  I think he turned out great!
