We have a family of birds that lives on our front porch during the the spring and summer. We think they are swallows, but we are not sure. Last year, they built a mud nest right on the side of the wall. It was a great spot for them really, nothing could get into their nest. We do not think they ever used it last year, though. Most of the time, they sat on our porch light instead of the nest. This year, they came back and fixed their nest up and the mom sat in it for a long time this year and the dad would sit above our door watching. We supposed there were eggs in it, but it is so high, we couldn't see into it. But, just this week, four little baby birds poked their heads over the top chirping for food. The kids were thrilled to see them. Here are a few pictures.

This is the mom and dad last year.

Here are the baby birds about a week ago.

They are already getting bigger and will probably start leaving the nest soon. I am glad our kids don't grow up and leave this fast!
